2nd Annual Texas Stars Gilt Show & Sale
February 22 - 24, 2009
The 2nd Annual Texas Stars Gilt Show and Sale will be held February 22-24, 2009 at the San Angelo Livestock Show.
Kyle Stephens of Stephens Farms has donated a foundation gilt to TPPA to be auctioned off to benefit the Texas 4-H & FFA students who exhibit Texas bred pigs.
The Stephens Farms Foundation Gilt will be showcased during the Texas Stars CTBR Gilt Show and auctioned off at the Texas Stars Gilt Sale on February 24th. The gilt will comply with all health regulations.

2009 State Fair CTB Results are in!

Producing "Natural" Pork in Texas
TPPA has been contacted by a company that is in the business of providing "natural" pork to food service and retail grocery stores and they are looking for pork producers in Texas that would like to produce pigs for them. They have a set of special standards with which a producer must comply to participate with them in raising pigs. They have provided TPPA with the specifications and an outline of their pricing terms and payment options. It appears from their information that producers receive premiums well above average market prices. While we do not endorse this company or their system, it may be worth it for a producer to check into this program if they are seriously interested in raising pigs for commercial production.
